Load Cell Calibration

Load cell calibration is performed by simulating a torque on the dynamometer, which should produce a force on the load cell in the same direction as the force that the engine or vehicle would produce when running and loaded.

To perform the calibration we will need

  • The software must be installed on the PC
  • The load cell must be mounted in its final location
  • We will need a calibration weight of known value. The value of the weight should be such that it produces a torque similar to what the motors will produce.

How much weight should be used?

We recommend using a weight such that it will generate about 70% to 100% of the torque to be measured. Note that torque is equal to the applied weight multiplied by the distance from the weight to the center of the dynamometer.

Procedure

Calibration is done in the OptionsSettings menu. Then go to the list of Signals in Calibration.

Look for the signal that corresponds to the Cell Torque. When you select it you will see the Calibrate... button.

Follow the steps on the screen until finished.
