Preparation

Before Boarding the Vehicle

SAFETY

Before putting the vehicle on the roller or the engine on the power bench, check safety elements such as fire extinguisher, sand bucket, etc.

FUEL

Check fluids and fuel levels.

PRESSURE

Check tire inflation pressure and condition. Roller test benches produce a higher demand on tires than flat pavement.

Inflation pressure is an important factor in achieving good repeatability between tests. Always use the same pressure as a routine.

Before Testing

TIE DOWN

Tie down the vehicle correctly, safely. The wheels should be in line with the roller. If they are crossed, they generate additional friction that produces power losses.

DYNO RUN

Define at which gear we will make the run. The idea is to find a fixed gear in which the acceleration time at full throttle is similar to the acceleration time that the vehicle will have in actual use on the track. The results will be better, the better we can simulate the driving conditions in the real world.
